Nature Hike: Adraga Beach to Cape Roca (Oct. 24th)
Join us for a scenic nature hike along one of the most stunning coastal trails in Portugal, from Praia da Adraga to Cabo da Roca, Europe’s westernmost point. Enjoy breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean and the rugged cliffs of Sintra’s coastline.
This nature hike will begin in Praia da Adraga, a beautiful beach with high cliffs, where you will learn about the geological formation of the Sintra Mountains and the rocks that integrate this coastal area. We will then hike up the southern slope of Praia da Adraga to explore nature along the cliffs and learn about the plants that grow near the coast. We will also show you two interesting geological formations - Buraco do Fojo and Pedra de Alvidrar – and share with you the stories and legends about them. Walking through trails on top of the cliffs, we will enjoy wonderful views over the rocky coastline, some smaller beaches and Cabo da Roca.
We will then move away from the coastline and follow paths through agricultural fields and forest, where you will learn about the edible and medicinal wild plants that grow here. Finally, we will visit Cabo da Roca and enjoy the amazing views from the westernmost point of Europe.
This tour will be guided by our partners called "Hearts into Nature". Here are some words about our partners:
