Nazaré is a coastal gem known for its massive waves and beautiful beaches! Famous for the colossal waves created by the Nazaré Canyon, this is a must-see destination for anyone fascinated by the power of the ocean.
Best Viewing: Head to Sítio da Nazaré for stunning views of the waves near the Fort of São Miguel Arcanjo. You can also visit the fort (open 10 AM to 6 PM) or walk down to Praia do Norte for a closer look. Note: The waves are powerful and dangerous—keep a safe distance from the water!
While giant waves aren’t guaranteed, Nazaré is still a fantastic place to visit. The town offers scenic views, cultural heritage like the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Nazaré and delicious restaurants like Restaurante Fonte Mar and O Luís.
