With our splendid Forest teacher Annie, join us on an unforgettable exploration of the Nature reserve and bird sanctuary, the Salina Tivat. Just a 20 minute drive will get us to a family day in exploration, meditation, foreging, nature cooking, and learning about how the beach get salted.
The Nature reserve and bird sanctuary Salina Tivat is a salt march, located in a shallow lagoon that was once a salt extraction site, and today it has been turned into an ornithological park of 150 hectares. Salt production was a booming business in the Middle ages, but then as salt production stopped being a expensive commodity production stopped. The lagoon became a swampy area and hence a heaven location for birds. In 2008, it received the status of the Bird Reserve, supervised by the International Ornithological Association.
On this experience will start with a walk and storytelling: "How the sea of the beach get salted" ! and a Nature Circle of water a connection time for parents with their children. Following this activity foraging and making a soup lunch from collected items with local salt is planned again as a parent-child activity.
The quiet time to rest and listen the birds is really special, as the Swallow are migrating at this time. The parents get opportunity to share about their travelling experiences, emotions, inspirations, and incorporate the travel of the birds in their stories, as the entire families are nomads or travelers just like the Swallows.
