Parent Cooking Experience with Native Wild Herbs and Spices (Mar. 06)
Discover a One-of-a-Kind Cycladic Cooking Experience!
Step into the world of authentic Cycladic cuisine with Cooking Tales by Maria Krina, where tradition, mindfulness, and flavor come together in a truly unique culinary journey. Led by Mrs. Maria Krina, a passionate chef with over 20 years of experience, this experience invites you to slow down, connect with nature, and embrace the art of cooking in its purest form.
From the moment you arrive, you’ll be welcomed with a refreshing cold herbal tea, carefully brewed from local plants that have been used for generations for their soothing and health-boosting properties. As you immerse yourself in the cooking process, you’ll work with an array of native wild herbs and spices, many of which have never been used in cooking before. These rare ingredients, hand-harvested from the Cycladic landscape, add layers of depth and complexity to the dishes, awakening your senses with their earthy aromas and delicate flavors.
Throughout the experience, you will prepare five traditional dishes, each crafted with fresh, local ingredients that showcase the rich culinary heritage of the region. You’ll also indulge in a curated selection of artisanal cheeses from small local producers, as well as louza, a cherished Cycladic delicacy of cured pork, aged to perfection with aromatic spices. To complement your meal, bottled wine will be served, allowing you to savor each bite while soaking in the serene atmosphere.
As the experience comes to a close, you’ll gather around the table to share in the joy of the meal, ending on a sweet note with homemade dessert and freshly brewed coffee. More than just a cooking experience, this is an invitation to slow down, be present, and appreciate the beauty of simple, high-quality ingredients—an enriching journey for both the palate and the soul.
