Syros is a geological museum of invaluable scientific value, and, the mountain “Siringas” is the only part of the island with limestone rocks. This probably explains the existence of springs, lush vegetation, caves, and small canyons. On this hike, we will have the pleasure of seeing some of the most important geological sights of Apano Meria!
Setting out from Sirigas Spring, located on top of Sirigas mountain, we will get the chance to taste the fresh running water that once used to supply Syros with its own bottled water and beverages, while enjoying a view of the western Aegean, under the vines! Experience the hidden gem of Schizomenes Gorge, a magnificent and unique Syros treasure, formed by land subsidence and known only to a select few.
So, get ready to discover one of the most interesting spots on the island. And please, don't forget to wear your training clothes, long pants, and training shoes, and also bring some water to keep you hydrated!
