Gria Spilia/Americanou Beach Excursion (Jun. 02)
Are you prepared for an unforgettable day on the island? Let’s embark together on an exciting excursion to Apano Meria. The adventure begins with a leisurely downhill hike to the enchanting Gria Spilia/Americanou beach, followed by a delightful boat ride to Kini.
This particular hike holds a special place in the hearts of locals, as it is the most renowned route to the northern beaches during this time of the year. Notably, it stands out as the easiest hike in Apano Meria, making it an ideal introduction for local kids to explore the breathtaking and secluded beaches with their crystal-clear waters.
The route starts in the little settlement of Kambos and then leads to one of the most popular paths of Apano Meria. Walking through bushes of thyme, sage, and other herbs, we will have the chance to see Andros, Tinos, and Mykonos islands. The view will change and we'll be seeing the islands of the western Cyclades, just before we meet the old, abandoned marble quarry.
Soon the path will bring us to Gria Spilia/Americanou beach, the most popular beach of Apano Meria, in Grammata Bay, where we can rest under the pine trees and swim. The excursion will end with a boat ride from Apano Meria to the picturesque fishing village of Kini. Then, Taxis will take you to Hermoupolis

And please, don't forget to wear your training clothes, long pants, hats, and comfortable shoes (no sandals or flip flops). Also bring along swimsuits, snorkeling gear (optional) daypacks, snacks, and water to keep you hydrated!
