Syros Winery, nestled in the charming San Michali village of Apano Meria on the island's northern part, is a small-scale winery brought to life by oenologist Nikos Chatzakis, who honed his craft in larger wineries before finding his way to Syros.
In 2011, Nikos embarked on his winemaking journey, collaborating with local vine growers to produce his inaugural wine, "Fabrica." This exquisite white blend of Monemvasia and white Kountoura grapes delivers a delightfully fruity profile, while the red counterpart, crafted from Mandilaria grapes, boasts a refreshing and light character.
Each bottle is painstakingly hand-bottled and labeled, a testament to the meticulous work of primarily one person. Nikos's repertoire extends to the renowned Cycladic grape variety, Assyrtiko, showcased in his creation "San ta Maratha." This vibrant wine presents a harmonious balance of acidity, luscious fruit notes, and a dominant lemon and citrus aroma. In his latest venture, Nikos turned his attention to the indigenous Cycladic grape variety, Serifiotiko, unveiling a special label known as "The Sheriff Fatman." With an unwavering spirit, he continues to plan and experiment, always pushing the boundaries.
For Nikos, selling local wines to foreign visitors is the ultimate form of export. His deep affection for the island and its rich culture is evident in his dedication to showcasing the unique character of Syros wines and indigenous grape varieties.
While the majority of his production finds its home on the island, the growing demand has led Nikos to forge new collaborations with producers and expand his vineyards, whether through privately owned plots or rented lands that he manages with utmost care.

And you might be wondering where the kids will be when you’re off enjoying the wine tasting. Not to worry, we’ve got you covered. We have a fun movie night planned for the kids where they can enjoy watching an awesome movie or a cool cartoon together while eating delicious pizza at the EC. Simply drop them off at the EC before you head out to the winery and when we are done, we head back to the EC so you can pick up the kids!

What to wear: Bring a jacket with you as the venue is outdoors. Note that we will walk at the field below the vineyard so we suggest shoes that will allow you to walk there
