Explore Sintra Walking: The Enchanted Woods of Peninha (Nov. 18)
In this nature walk, we will first walk up to the Sanctuary of Peninha and tell you a curious legend about this sacred place. Here you can enjoy a magnificent view of the surrounding landscape, including the Tagus River, the beaches along the coastline and Cape Roca. We will then walk down through beautiful cedar woods and explore nature in the northern slopes of the Sintra Mountains.
Throughout this nature walk, we will talk about the history of the forest of Sintra-Cascais Natural Park, its biodiversity, and some amazing scientific discoveries about the communication and intelligence of trees. We will also share with you the sacred significance of the Sintra Mountains and its trees for ancient cultures.
