In this hike, we will depart from the charming traditional village of Penedo to discover a very special forest. The Sintra Mountains have undergone many changes over time and little of the original forest remains. However, the woods of Penedo preserve many of the native plant species, such as oaks, cork oaks, hazelnut trees and wonderful strawberry trees.
We invite you to walk through these enchanted woods and be amazed by their beautiful trees!

Hearts into Nature is a trademark of guided walks and activities in nature, which invite people to learn about the flora and fauna of Portugal, combining the fascination of scientific mysteries with mindful nature observation. Hearts into Nature activities are organized and conducted by biologist Filipa Heitor, with RNAAT License nº 669/2019 of the Portuguese National Tourism Institute and recognized as Nature Tourism by the ICNF.
Schedule: Friday, February 21st from 9:30 a.m - approx. 11:30 pm
Meeting Point: Restaurant “Refúgio do Ciclista”
Difficulty Level: Easy - Level 1 (Scale 1 to 5)

Transportation Included: No (We will meet directly there. An Uber to the meeting point from the E.C costs approx. 6€)
What to bring: closed shoes suitable for hiking, water, snacks, hat sunscreen & sunglasses, comfortable clothes
