Vrmac Mountain offers a delightful hiking experience with stunning views. Here’s what you can expect on a hike along the Vrmac Ridge Trail:
The Vrmac Ridge Trail connects Fort Vrmac to Sveti Ilija, the highest peak along the ridge. It follows an old military road and provides panoramic views of the Dinaric Alps, Boka Bay, and the picturesque villages dotting the shoreline.
The trail is straightforward and easy to navigate.
Trail Length & Details: The trail starts at Fort Vrmac, where you might encounter free-roaming farm animals like pigs and goats. As you ascend, enjoy the scents of rosemary and lavender in the pine forests. The stone pathway leads to the top of the Vrmac Peninsula, passing an Austro-Hungarian fort along the way. This is an approximately 8,5 km roundtrip. Please bear this in mind when signing up.
Difficulty Level: the hike itself is fairly easy, the distance itself is to be considered at 8,5 km.
Duration: approx. 3-4 hours depending on the experience of the group (plus the time to travel there and back)
