Water Polo Intro (6+)
We’re thrilled to bring an authentic local experience to the children of our Kotor summer Cohorts! This exciting ECA will unfold DURING EC hours, and parents are warmly invited to observe their little ones as they experience Water Polo in the truly unique setting of Kotor’s seawater pool. During each hour-long session, your child will be immersed in a locals’ ‘must-do activity’.
The Water Polo session will run from 10 am till 11 am. Conveniently located near the EC, our dedicated Crew will ensure children are safely walked to the venue and back (expected return to the EC is 11:30am). Our two instructors are highly qualified and fully trained individuals and conduct these sessions for local kids on a daily basis. The timing of the sessions is based on the Pool’s availability and to offer the activity during suitable outdoor temperatures for the most comfortable experience.
A member of our Crew will be present during the hour to observe the session.
The classes are usually organised into two groups: the less experienced kids will receive extensive training in lap swimming/training, while the other group warms up through lap swimming and then moves onto technical skills such as ball control and ball manipulation towards a successful game. Depending on the experience of the kids enrolled, the groups will get mixed up over the following sessions. The Pool has equipment such as boards and inflatable swim assistance should this be needed by a child within the less experienced group.
Important Notes
The natural seawater pool adjacent to the picturesque Bay of Kotor area is two metres deep and the ground will not always be visible. Children enrolling for this activity MUST be confident swimmers already. Please discuss this with your children prior to signing up.
As on any day, we ask you to apply sunscreen in the morning. On Tuesdays, please dress your child in swim outfits and pack a change of clothes. As there are no changing facilities on site, you will be required to equip your child with a 'changing towel' to get changed underneath. Locals are accustomed to this practice, and it’s part of the authentic experience. If you’re uncomfortable with this arrangement, we recommend not signing up for this ECA activity. For those not participating, the EC will run as per usual schedule.
